Welcome, Town of Elgin residents & businesses! We’re excited to begin reliable curbside garbage pickup starting July 3 as part of the service contract awarded to us by the Town of Elgin. This service contract provides trash pick up service to Town of Elgin residents at no charge (as long as you provide your own compliant can). Can rental prices begin at $7 per month, billed at $21 quarterly for residences. Businesses may also register for service but are not covered under the Town of Elgin service contract.

Residents - if you need to rent a compliant can, it’s $7/month (billed quarterly beginning July 3, so $21 at first billing). If you already have a compliant can or don’t need one, no payment info is required now.
If you live outside Elgin town limits but your address falls within our current service area, you’re welcome to register here; you’ll simply pay regular service fees instead of the town rate. If your address isn’t recognized, we don’t yet serve there—but we’re expanding in the coming months and will keep you posted.

How do I register for curbside pickup in Elgin?
Click the “Register” button on this page, then fill in your address, email, and phone number so we can add you to our Thursday/Friday routes. If your address is recognized within our current service area, you’ll be set. If it’s outside town limits but we serve it, you can still register (regular service fees apply). If your address isn’t recognized, we don’t yet serve there—but we’re expanding soon and will notify you when we do.
What is a compliant can and do I need to rent one?
Elgin requires all garbage cans to meet town standards (size, lid type, etc.). If you already own a compliant can, no rental or payment info is needed now. If you need to rent, the cost is $7/month per can, billed quarterly starting July 3 (first billing $21). You only enter payment details during registration if renting; you won’t be charged until service begins.
When does service start and how often will trucks come?
Service begins July 3, and our trucks run weekly on Thursdays and Fridays for Elgin addresses. Be sure your can is out by the curb before 6:00 am on your assigned day; we’ll send reminders via email or phone if you’ve provided them.
Are there any restrictions to what we can put in the trash?
We have to abide by the landfill regulations - Landfill regulations state that: NO yard debris, hazardous materials, tires, appliances, car parts, ammunition (live or spent), human or animal remains, or electronics are allowed within household garbage disposal. If you have any questions, please give us a call.
I live just outside Elgin town limits. Can I still sign up?
Yes—if your address falls within our current service routes, you can register here. You’ll simply pay our regular service fees instead of the Elgin rate. If the registration form says your address isn’t recognized, we don’t serve there yet; please check back later as we expand coverage. What if I need to update my address or contact info later?
If you move or change phone/email, please call us at 803-513-7885 or email support@chancesdisposal.com so we can update your route details and keep sending timely reminders. For most service changes including service skips (in case you will be out of town) or feedback about issues, you will have a personal customer portal where you can submit those issues and we will track them to fix them. How and when will billing occur?
Billing for rented cans happens quarterly. For example, if service starts July 3 and you rent a can, you’ll be billed $21 on that date, then $21 every three months thereafter (if you are a town of Elgin resident). If you don’t rent a can, no payment is required now. When you register with a rental, you provide payment details but won’t be charged until the service start date.
Can businesses register online?
The town of Elgin does not provision service for businesses - only residential homes. However, businesses within the town limits of Elgin may register for services - normal service rates will apply. Choose the Business Plan box (on the bottom) when choosing a plan.
